Things to do
The Pelion Area. The ‘mountain of the centaurs’. Sea, Mountain, forest & stream; Pelion is the perfect combination of these elements offering a great variety of activities from lying on one of Greece’s best beaches on day 1 to a mountain hike along one of the famous Pelion stone paths on day 2 following the sound of cool streams through ancient forest, joining one of the many activity tours available, sampling the traditional local cuisine, visiting one of the many picturesque villages or local craft shops or simply just enjoying the beautiful views at every turn. There is something for everyone.
Portaria Village. Portaria, Pelion’s most popular and accessible village is a perfect base from which to explore this area which has remained a unspoilt hidden gem and is relatively unknown outside Greece. It is close enough to Volos to be within easy reach of many beaches, but located on the main Volos-Hania road making an easy jump point for exploring the larger Pelion area.
